Location Today
Modern Location: The land once owned by Morgan Strickland is located in the southeastern part of Forsyth County, along Settles Road, near the entrance to the Grand Cascades subdivision. The small subdivision known as Cascade Run has been developed on a portion of the property and occupies roughly one-third of the original 37.5 acres. 4

Parents: Perry Strickland (b. ~1825) and Jenny (Jane) Strickland, maiden name possibly Terry, based on information from Morgan’s death certificate. 5
Spouse: Harriett Rogers, married September 1, 1893, in Forsyth County. 6
Children: No known biological children.
Other Household Members:
Toney Howell, Morgan’s nephew9, lived with him in 1910 and later served in WWI. He lived next to Morgan in Duluth, Georgia, as of the 1920 Census. 7
After 1912: Morgan no longer appears in Forsyth County records. By 1920, he, Harriett, and other relatives are found in Duluth, Gwinnett County. It is likely the family fled during the expulsion and resettled there.
He died on October 11, 1939, at Grady Hospital in Atlanta and was buried in Shakerag, Duluth, Georgia. 8
